Last month, Equinox President Mike Rylander had the opportunity to give a lecture at Young Harris College in North Georgia. The topic was “Work and Value in the Information Age: What Does It Mean to Have Access to Information?” In reality, the ensuing spirited discussion focused on open source, open access, open data–really open everything. The audience was a mixture of both students and faculty. The Zell and Shirley Miller Library hosted and provided the venue.
Mike commented, “I’m passionate about open source advocacy and outreach. The opportunity to discuss these topics is always exciting and I had a great time with the Young Harris faculty and students.”
A special thank you to Mike Elrod, Young Harris Library Instructor, for setting up the lecture. So, without further ado, here’s Mike talking about the subject he loves best.
